Woman Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Bayonne

A 74-year-old Bayonne woman was killed after she was struck by a vehicle on the morning of Monday, April 24, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

At 11:50 a.m., police were called to 22nd St and Broadway and located the victim, Maryann Patey, suffering from a head injury, Suarez said. She was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead about an hour later, Suarez said.

The driver of the vehicle that struck Patey remained at the scene, Suarez said.. The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Bayonne Police Department are continuing to investigate the crash, Suarez said.
